ABOUT

CURRENT takes place on unceded Indigenous land: Lenapehoking, the homeland of the Lenape peoples. We acknowledge the genocide and continued displacement of Indigenous peoples during the colonial era and beyond. We acknowledge the present Lenape communities and how they continue to contribute to the life of this area through their heritage, traditions, and care for the land and waterways as sacred. Thank you to Curtis Zunigha of the Lenape Center NY for consultation on this project.

CURRENT was created collaboratively by Annie Saunders (concept, direction, devising, narration), Andrew Schneider (concept development, devising, narration, on-location recording, spatialization and sound design), Jackie! Zhou and One Thousand Birds (sound design, engineering and spatialization), OpenEndedGroup (platform technology creation), produced by Octopus Theatricals - Mara Isaacs, Bryan Hunt, Sophie Blumberg and commissioned by Arts Brookfield for One Liberty Plaza and One New York Plaza.
